GLIMPSE OF GORILLAS - UGANDA - 4 NIGHTS 5 DAYS
We feature the shortest programme which can be a perfect start of a more comprehensive safari combined with travel in Kenya and/or Tanzania. As gorilla viewing is limited to only a few participants each day to protect the gorillas from overexposure to humans, planning early is recommended

Itinerary:

Day 01 - On arrival Entebbe, transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax or enjoy optional sight-seeing activities. Overnight at Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel on bed & breakfast basis.

Day 02 - Following breakfast, travel by road to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The drive passes many local villages and you stop for lunch en route. You will have a short stop at the Equator for a morning cup of coffee or tea, as well as a short informative talk. Lunch will be in either Mbarara or Kabale. Your drive will take you through Uganda’s rolling green hills through the highlands, also known as the ‘Switzerland of Uganda’.
Your road will then head even higher to where you will be able to see the triangular peaks of the Virunga volcanoes of Rwanda and the Congo. And finally, you will arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the mountain gorilla.
Overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp on full board basis.

Day 03 - After an early breakfast, you set out on your gorilla trek. This day’s trek can take from half an hour to 5 hours – a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes.
Before 8:00 am you will report to the ranger station after breakfast for registration and for a short talk by one of the rangers. The guides will then take you through the bush through the undergrowth and parting thick creepers to track the gorillas.

You will sit in the forest among the gorillas, listen to them grumble to each other, and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male, the silverback. It will be an extraordinary experience sitting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas.

Should you have the energy this afternoon, you will take a guided walk on the Munyaga River trail, which is an ideal short trail. This walk will lead you to three delightful crystal clear waterfalls, a profusion of tree ferns, epiphytic ferns, orchids and Bwindi’s colorful array of butterflies. Here you may also see birds and primates from the forest edge.

Return to the camp in the late afternoon. Overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp on full board basis.

Day 04 - After breakfast, you return to Entebbe by road with lunch en route. Overnight at Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel on bed & breakfast basis.

Day 05 - Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
